    great. but the part about boxing... there are a myriad of ways to set up those 5 punches, the set ups are very complex and you dont have much time to think about them in a fight. in can be over ANY second

    Anyone have any pointers for this? If you're trying the triangle and they grab a hold of your right foot with their left hand to control and stop it. Should you just move on to the attack of the trapped right arm?

      @Michaelcurrierbjj 6 днів тому

      Yeah for sure. I don’t like to fight too hard to free my foot. Most of what I do is low output so I’ll just move on to the next submission

    There is so much more to wristlock and manipulation than the very superficial cowhwnd and gooseneck. Aikido and Chinese qinna have far more developed wristlocks than we see in bjj - The truly interesting locks start to happen when you incorporate twisting locks like sankyo aka kote hinari (inward wrist turn) and kote gaeshi (outward wrist turn). There is also what is called nikyo which is a bit more complex- using 2 opposing locks or bends to set the lock. These locks not only effect the wrist but the entire arm and have a very wide range of applications The sankyo lock can even enhance what we call the kimura in bjj. And the sankyo or potentially kotegaeshi can even enhance the arm bar since we are effectively twisting and removing all of the slack out of the arm- immobilizing the whole arm and body structure. Also if you apply a twisting sankyo or kotegaeshi then they may enhance what we call the gooseneck and cowhand breaks too. There is a wide range of applications for "wristlocks"

    17:36 would it not be better to pull it down and switch the grip around chest level then push it into the neck when you shift the hips. Essentially not showing your hand and making them aware of the "blade" at their throat? Won't use it much as it attacks the trachea (Josh Janis PPP fan) but would still like to know if sneaky isn't better.

    • @johnmissybaize6053
      @johnmissybaize6053 13 днів тому

      Yes - I agree with what you are saying. At the beginning I say that you could go for these in any order. If that is the one you go for first, you definitely would want to play your cards closer to your chest as you set it up. It’s taught as a series with an if this/ then that type of approach. But you could take any one and use it on its own. Play with it and make it work for you.

    • @liquidrob6948
      @liquidrob6948 17 днів тому

      Yeah, like Dnice said, it's a seminar format in a camp where classes and training sessions run all day, so people are tired I need to give more info and not just run people the hole hour, in a class I wouldn't talk as much and it's probably less than a minute describing the game

    • @7jiujitsu
      @7jiujitsu 17 днів тому
